I am recruiting students who apply in Fall 2026 to start in Fall 2027. Apply to the UC Irvine CS PhD program and name me in your statement.

You're welcome to email me at [email protected], but please know that I get more mail than I can answer, and a generic note asking whether I'm taking students will probably go unanswered. Applying is strictly more useful than emailing. If you write, keep it specific: discuss a paper of mine, a question you would pursue next, or a result you interpret differently. Use [Prospective PhD] in the subject line.
Current UCI students
If you're already at UCI (master's or undergraduate) I'd love to talk about research. I've worked with 21 undergraduates so far, many of whom went on to PhD programs and research labs; the group page lists them. Email me at [email protected] with [UCI Student] in the subject line. Include your program and year, the research questions that interest you, and any relevant coursework, projects, or experience.
